Spiritual climate change
There is a wide range of opinions on the subject of climate change. Some believe we are on the verge of an ecological catastrophe while others think climate change presents no danger at all. Some think our use of fossil fuels is the primary cause while others think that nothing we do has any effect on it.
A lot of people are concerned about changes in our physical climate, but how many care as much about our spiritual climate? I am 78 years old and in my lifetime I have seen drastic changes in the spiritual climate and they have not been for the better.
When I was young the Bible was widely accepted as a revelation from God and as a guide for how we should live. Even those who weren’t Christians generally accepted the Bible’s teachings of right and wrong.
Guns could be easily obtained by anyone, but mass shootings such as we have today were unheard of. There was more respect for human life and everyone realized that murder was wrong.
It was understood that sexual activity outside of marriage was wrong. It did take place but was generally disapproved of. And the idea of same sex marriage was unthinkable.
It was legal to pray and talk about the Bible in public schools. I remember one student in a high school science class I was in asked the teacher, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” The teacher answered that the chicken came first because the Bible says that God created chickens. Any public school teacher who said anything like that today would be in big trouble.
Everyone understood that there are only two genders, male and female, and that it isn’t possible for someone to change the gender he was born with.
There have been some improvements, particularly in the area of civil rights. I remember a time when racial segregation was legal, and all my grade school education was in segregated schools. But most of the changes have been bad.
There is debate about whether human activity is responsible for changes in our physical climate; there is no doubt that it is responsible for the state of our spiritual climate. It all depends on how faithfully Christians obey the Bible. Obedience improves the climate; disobedience or neglect allow the force of evil to make it worse. If you want to improve conditions you need to study the Bible, obey it, and try to persuade others to follow it.

Answers in Genesis is aware of the problem and is taking action.
Has there been catastrophic climate change in the past? Are we experiencing climate change now? Well, yes—but that depends on how you define climate change! We’re seeing catastrophic spiritual climate change throughout the West, and the only way to fight it is with the truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Environmental climates change, but there’s no reason for the climate despair paralyzing the younger generations or the alarmism of the media and many scientists.
Get answers to the radical climate change happening in our culture, and the not-so-radical climate change happening in the environment, at our one-of-a-kind Easter conference, taking place at the Ark Encounter.

The conference will dramatically conclude with a sunrise service in the Answers Center, with a special message from Ray Comfort and worship led by Michael O’Brien, followed by a brunch at Emzara’s Buffet (located next to the life-size Ark).
Registration includes complimentary admission to the Ark Encounter and the nearby Creation Museum (located 45 minutes from the Ark Encounter).

Boy, Mr. Clyde, isn’t that the truth! BUT THEY CAN TELL THEM TO THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS AND THOSE HAPPY THOUGHTS WILL MAKE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN 😢😢
My little 6 year old granddaughter told me her teacher told her and the whole class that. It was a classroom of 6 years olds 😢😢 I told her gently, “Honey, that is not true. We can speak to God through prayer and He answers us. But we can’t send happy thoughts and good things will happen!”
Bless her heart!
Thanks for your 78 year old insight I appreciate it! I am 53-I tell people that times are bad and getting worse just as Our Saviour said it would get and many (including Christians) scoff at me saying it’s always been like this???? I stand firm though because I believe what the Bible has told us through Jesus and is now telling us through God’s Holy Spirit 🙏🏻❤️

Excellent and truthful insight. I am 68 and have seen people who used to just accept the Bible now question it.

You have definitely identified the bigger danger of spiritual climate change. The only solution I know is that we continue to trust God, to live according to his Word, and to share that Word with those who will listen. J.

I remember learning in school that science is about cause and effect – that everything that happens has a cause. Then the next semester we were taught about evolution and the many mutations that occurred to change one organism into another. I innocently asked what caused the mutations, and the teacher went on to describe what kinds of changes the organisms went through as a result of the mutations. I asked again, “But what caused the mutations?” She continued her prewritten lesson plan, and by that time I was annoyed. I asked one more time, “But WHAT CAUSED the mutations?” Exasperated, she snapped, “They just HAPPENED, OK?!”
So much for scientific cause and effect…

Haha – very funny but so true. They also talk about the Big Bang and yet light only came into existence 380,000 years after the event. The actual event itself was covered in darkness so it is absolutely impossible for science to ever know what happened in the beginning. But they won’t tell you that…. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God….nuff said 🙂
