Purpose of this blog

I started this blog as a way to share some of the things I have learned in my study of the Bible although I might post on other subjects in it.  The Bible was inspired by God and is the only complete and totally accurate revelation of him that exists.  Because of this it is important that everyone learn as much as possible about it.

I am not a professional theologian or preacher and I have never attended a Bible college or seminary but I have spent a lot of time studying the Bible.  However you shouldn’t take my word for what I say but you should check the Bible to make sure what I am saying is accurate.  When Paul preached the gospel in Berea the Jews examined the scriptures to make sure what he was teaching was true and they were commended for it.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Acts 17:10-11

You should follow their example as you read this blog.

The Bible differs from all other books in the fact that it is inspired by God.  It also differs in the fact that it can’t be completely understood without the help of the Holy Spirit.

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14

Anyone can read the Bible and learn a lot from it but Christians, who have the Holy Spirit living in them, can understand it in a whole new way.  If you want to learn how to become a Christian just click on one of these sites:

  1. Thank you for your recent follow. I very much like the approach you take on your blog (closely examining Scripture, then discussing its implications). It is becoming increasingly difficult to find biblically based ministries of this kind. Blessings, A.

  2. Body Ministry is a passion of mine. Encouraging others within the Body of Christ to use the gifts the Holy Spirit has given them to make the Body of Christ complete with Christ as the Head is a teaching not often expressed.

With that in mind and because I follow your site and within the last several month have found inspiration, encouragement and/or instruction from your site, I am publishing the link to your site on my “Blogs Followed” page. You need do nothing in return, this is part of my ministry TO the Body of Christ. If however, you would rather not your link/site be associated with mine, please feel free to let me know and I will remove the link, no questions asked, no hurt feelings.

In the meantime, my prayer for you and your ministry (service to others and the Lord) is that you will be continually blessed with insight, creativity and abundant blessings from the Holy Spirit as you continue in your ministry!!

Discussing Biblical Authority

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (Exodus 20:11)
