Spiritual climate change

There is a wide range of opinions on the subject of climate change.  Some believe we are on the verge of an ecological catastrophe while others think climate change presents no danger at all.  Some think our use of fossil fuels is the primary cause while others think that nothing we do has any effect on it.

A lot of people are concerned about changes in our physical climate, but how many care as much about our spiritual climate?   I am 78 years old and in my lifetime I have seen drastic changes in the spiritual climate and they have not been for the better. Read the rest of this entry

Climate ‘Experts’ Are 0-41 with Their Doomsday Predictions

We get bullied by passionate but very stupid people who tell us that if we do not believe THEIR way and kowtow to leftist politicians, we’re going to Hell (even though they do not believe in it or in the God of the Bible). Is climate change the result of human activity?

It is believed by many that climate change is caused by human activities such as the use of fossil fuels.  Others disagree with this assessment and believe that humans can’t affect climate.  I have read arguments on both sides of he issue and I have noticed that both sides have one thing in common.  Neither side looks to the Bible for answers to the question.  That is unfortunate because the Bible has a lot to say on the subject. Is human activity responsible for climate change?

It is generally accepted that the earth’s climate is changing and that the greenhouse gases produced by the use of fossil fuels are responsible for much of this change.  In 2015 a group of nations signed an agreement known as the Paris Accord in which they agreed to take steps to ease climate change.  Earlier this year President Trump was criticized when the withdrew the United States from this agreement.

President Trump’s action was not as irresponsible as most people seem to think.  There are many scientists who think that human actions aren’t responsible for climate change.  You can read the arguments for both sides of this issue here:  Is Human Activity Primarily Responsible for Global Climate Change?

Both sides are based on the opinions of scientists who have studied the data extensively.  For those who believe the Bible there is a third option.  The Bible teaches that humans do affect the climate but not by burning fossil fuels. Read the rest of this entry

Climate change

California is experiencing one of the worst droughts in its history.  Here are some of the steps it is taking in response: California Drought

These things will help to alleviate the harm done by the drought but will do nothing to end it.  Israel once suffered a severe drought.  Perhaps a study of that drought will give some ideas about how to cope with the one in California.
