Praying about abortion

The battle against abortion is both political and spiritual.  We need to change laws so that unborn babies are protected, but we also need to pray for all who are involved in this activity.  We must pray that women who are considering abortion will receive the help they need to give birth to their child and support him after he is born.  We must pray that those who are involved in the business of providing abortions will recognize repent of their sin.  We must pray that all children will be allowed to be born.

Ending abortion is only the first step.  Jesus said that unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.  We must pray that those babies whose lives are saved by our efforts will go on to experience the second birth.

Absolute slavery and absolute freedom

Heaven will be a place of absolute slavery.  For all eternity we will be subject to the will of another and will not be able to do anything contrary to that will.

Heaven will be a place of absolute freedom.  For all eternity we will be free to do whatever we want and no one will hinder us. Read the rest of this entry

The Christian is different

Here is something I read on Facebook.

The Christian is different

by Joshua Arnold

The Christian is unlike any other person on the planet. They have had the most profound experience that any human being can possibly have in this fallen world. They have been born again (John 3:3), born from above, reconciled to God, given the Holy Spirit, new eyes to see, new ears to hear, a new heart to love God and His people, and they have been given eternal life because of Jesus Christ. Addiction

Here is something I read on Facebook.

Addiction

by Emily Thomes

Before 2014, I had a lot of “addictions.” My biggest issue wasn’t my promiscuity or the drugs, though; it was my heart. I was slave to my sin and dead in my trespasses; to say that I was addicted to the things that the Lord hates and warns against in His word is an understatement. By His grace, He delivered me from the wrath I deserved for my sin. In doing so, He led me out of practicing homosexuality, drug abuse, uncontrollable anger, and more. I’m not without sin today by any means, but He has grown me to be like His Son and is continuing to do so more each day. Even had I gotten sober and straightened out my life some, without Jesus, I would still not truly be “clean”. More than my bad behavior, I needed a clean heart. Only being born again can save us. Turn not just to sober living but to Jesus as Lord and be made clean from the inside out. #cleanchallenge
