The Shortest Distance

See, there's this thing called biology...

Somebody smart said, “the shortest distance between our problems and the solution is the distance between our knees and the floor.”

I just thought that was really cute! So about 18 inches, maybe two feet? It’s a really good reminder for those of us who tend to become overwhelmed by the problems and issues we face. I can be one of those people who falsely concludes that if I can’t see the solution, then there isn’t one to be had.

Ha! I’ve got quite a bit of self reliance going on so, “let go and let God” is not my strong suit.

In our culture we’ve kind of demeaned or disparaged the idea of prayer, made it something casual, if we notice it at all. Like when something bad happens we’ll say, “praying” with a little high five icon. Hashtag, “#Icare.” That’s not “bad,” it’s just superficial and disconnected.
