Growing up I always heard the saying “Don’t mix religion and politics”. I never understood that much till I became older but even as a grown adult I notice how people tend to avoid mixing the two. In school, we could learn all about politics but not so much religion but I found it most interesting that many people that are religious will not speak very freely of their views on politics. You might hear a Christian speak about it a little if they felt it wasn’t a hot topic or maybe only to a few people they trusted but to me it’s been so obvious that even I kept tight-lipped about my views for many years until I questioned why I felt this way.
