My thanksgiving prayer

My Thanksgiving Prayer

Dear Lord, here it is Thanksgiving, a time of giving thanks. We have a lot of good food on this table and I truly am thankful for it, but please understand that this food is not what I am most thankful for.

First of all I am thankful for your love, the love that caused you to send your son to die as a sacrifice for my sin.

I am thankful that no matter where I am or what I’ve done I still feel your presence calling me back to where I belong

I am thankful for the folks sitting around this table, we’re a mixed matched bunch but we seem to fit together pretty well.

I am so overwhelmingly thankful for the people that I been so blessed to have in my life and the things that I have learned from them.

I am thankful for being born in to a family, poor in material possessions but rich in love.

I am thankful for my children and grandchildren, I know that they are supposed to learn from me, but they have taught me so, so much.

Now Lord there are family that are not with us at this table today, I’m asking you to wrap your arms of love around them and cause them to know that I miss them very, very much.

Father thank you for all and most of all your mercy.

In the name of Jesus the Christ Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
