Here is something I read on Facebook.

by Joshua Arnold

You grieve over sin. But you need to rejoice that you even grieve over sin. There was a time when you didn’t.

You have no peace because of your sin. But you need to be at peace over the fact that you do not have peace with your sin. There was a time when you didn’t.

You are troubled by your sin, but doesn’t the thought of not being troubled by your sin trouble you even more? Does the thought of waking up one day with a full blown reprobate mind terrify you?

You hunger and thirst for righteousness, don’t you? Your flesh hungers and thirst for its own things, too, but wouldn’t you, if you could eliminate one from existence forever right now, do away with the fleshly desires, without question?

Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness because you want to be righteous for the sake of having a righteousness of your own that you can rest in?
Then you are not saved. You will perish.

Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness because you know that apart from it, you can’t continue to walk and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who is your greatest delight and joy, and you hate anything that hinders you from that?
Then you are saved. You love the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one loves the Lord unless He who loves eternally first loved them.

It is a great mystery that though the human heart longs for Truth, in which alone it finds liberation and delight, the first reaction of human beings to Truth is one of hostility and fear! -Anthony de Mello

His Eternal Word

Psalm 119:89,"Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven"

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (Exodus 20:11)
